Hey Climate Designers, Imagine a world where every designer working on climate has access to the collective wisdom of everyone who came before them.
We're living through the moment when design becomes a core climate component. It's not just efficiency or "doing good". It's about abundance and moving towards systemic change. When we share our climate design struggles and breakthroughs, we're building the infrastructure for designers to create that better future we all talk about. Every story and experience of what worked (and what didn't) becomes a resource for the next designer trying to create a meaningful impact. Whether you're mid-career and pivoting to climate, already implementing sustainability in your work, or you've been in this space your whole career, your experience matters. The small win that convinced your client to choose the more climate-forward option is gold for someone else. The epic failure that taught you what doesn't work is even more valuable. The stories we share with each other now become the foundation for everyone who follows. This is why we hope you can join us next week for the launch of our new event series, “Successes & Struggles”, on October 1st. I believe this is an important event to produce and host. It’s a way for you to meet others from multiple design disciplines and share your respective climate challenges and wins. Think, “one part therapeutic ranting about sustainability barriers, one part practical wisdom exchange.” If you're struggling with delivering a sustainable design solution at work and need some advice, or if you have a few wins under your belt that might help designers, please join us! – Marc O’Brien, co-founder
Latest from Climate DesignersCommunity HighlightsThe latest from Climate Designers Chapters & Community “A little while ago, I sat down for an interview with my friend, Simon Eisenbach, for his Common Cultures Podcast. Among many topics we discussed, I spoke about sustainability and community, and what I am calling the “500-year portfolio,” and after listening to the episode, I felt that I could expand on those thoughts a bit more in writing. I hope you’ll listen to the podcast and think of this as a companion piece.” - Matt McGillvray
This month Climate Designers Singapore celebrated "Imagine Embracing Chaos and Possibility in a Planetary Emergency”, a Book Launch from Natalie Seisser at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore, Published by Slanted Publishers “This book is not a non-fiction book or practical guide, but rather an interdisciplinary collection of conversations, reflections and contributions that explore life in times of global crisis–what some call a "planetary emergency." We shed light on the ecological, social and cultural challenges of our time from various perspectives and aim to create space for further reflection and solutions. The book does not offer easy answers, but invites readers to reflect on, pause and engage with the complexity of our times.“ - Natalie Seisser, Singapore Chapter Lead
Question of the Month “We want to hear from you to better curate events, topics, and gatherings that peak your interest.

If you haven’t seen the Resource Library before, check it out! To begin, we will start with the broadest perspective of them all, thinking in systems. Systems theory has a ton of permutations and schools of thought, but at the core it’s the study of interconnected component...
Hey Climate Designers, As we enter 2026, we are reflecting on where we’ve been and where we’re going. For those who might be new here, we’d like to take a moment to re-introduce ourselves. We launched in 2019 with a mission to empower designers to learn, connect, and act on climate. We bring all design disciplines together with the goal of fundamentally reshaping the design industry to put climate at the core of every designer’s work. Over the years we've run virtual summits, in-person design...
Hey Climate Designers, As we close out 2025, this message is a short one. This year has hit every region of the world differently, but for many it has been a time of upheaval and change. Traditionally winter was a time of quiet, recuperation, and preparation for the year ahead. These natural cycles are difficult to honor in our current paradigm, but there is much value in creating the spaciousness needed to reflect and make thoughtful intentions for the year to come. Or to simply do nothing....
